The BLACK V Fashion Event presents annually, collections inspired by the beauty and chic mood of BLACK to the fashion scene in San Francisco. It sets itself as a major opportunity for fashion industry professionals to connect and keep the fashion zeitgeist alive in San Francisco through the use of traditional runway and multi-media platform and technology.

Proceeds from BLACK V Fashion Event will benefit the Fashion Show Production Class at City College of San Francisco. The Foundation of City College is a (501c3) non-profit organization.

The BLACK V Fashion Event has featured 11 San Francisco Local Designers in 2011 (Jay Sario, Dahae Kim, Gail Shrive, LHC Couture, Menk, Ken Chen SF, Phuong My, Kaatje, Guzel, Eugene Huang, and Cari Borja) and 7 SF Designers when it started in 2010 (Bacca Da Silva, Dcepcion, Alexandria Von Bromssen, Tamo Design, Terrance Yu, Kaatje, and Mike Sg). Now in its third year, Black V has been voted 2011 Best Fashion Event of the Year by its peers and colleagues.

Saturday, January 7, 2012- Amy Williams (CCA Fashion Design Chair), Diane Green (CCSF Fashion Department Chair), Jeanne Allen (FISF Executive Director and Jeanne-Marc Co-founder) and Lori Randolph (Macy’s San Francisco District Vice President) will be interviewing the top candidates  for the first batch of Designers in Residence program by the Fashion Incubator San Francisco at Macy’s Union Square. Six candidates will be chosen to undergo a yearlong training with a curriculum taught by experts in the San Francisco fashion and economic development communities.
